1,500 families hit by rain
Mahabubnagar: Over 1,500 families were affected and six villages inundated due to incessant rains under the influence of deep depression for the past two days in the district. District Collector V.Usharani, told The Hindu that a for
ty-year-old Zaheerabee died due to house collapse at Tumkunta village in Weepanagandla mandal on Friday evening.
She said that about thousand houses were damaged covering five mandals of Alampur, Waddepally, Gadwal, Itikyala and Ieeja in Gadwal division. An irrigation tank at Kyathur village in Alampur mandal was breached and many sheep were washed away due to overflow of various streams in the area.
