Minister’s surprise check at KSEB office

Staff Reporter

PATHANAMTHITTA: Transport Minister Mathew T. Thomas, along with District Collector Ashok Kumar Singh, conducted a ‘surprise inspection’

at the section office of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) at

Kavumbhagom near Thiruvalla on Saturday.

The Minister’s visit was following complaints he had received from the public during his visit to the natural calamity-hit areas of Mepral, Nedumpram and Chathankary on Saturday.

People alleged that the KSEB staff at the Kavumbhagom office were not even willing to hear their grievances.

The Minister’s attempt to register a telephonic complaint at the KSEB office, with out revealing his identity, too got a ‘negative’ response.

This ‘negative’ response reportedly prompted the Minister to visit the KSEB office.

Failing to answer the Minister’s queries, the personnel at the office said the office had no consumer grievance register.
