Councillors inspect water treatment plant

Staff Reporter

METTUR: A team of Salem Corporation officials and councillors inspected the pumping station and water treatment plant of the Salem-Attur Combined Water Supply Scheme here on Friday following complaints that contaminated water was being supplied to many parts of the city.

Many residents complained that the water supplied to them was yellow in colour and foul smell emanated from it.

The team led by Mayor J. Rekha Priyadarshini visited the treatment plant maintained by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board at Komburankadu near here.

The team also found that the water coming from the plant was yellow in colour.
