Datta Peetha hearing on June 27
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday adjourned further hearing on an appeal by the State Government relating to religious practices followed at Sri Guru Datta Peetha in Bababudangiri in Chikmagalur district.
The appeal is against a single judge order partly allowing a petition by the Guru Dattatreya Peetha Devasthana Samvardhane Trust. In its appeal, the State through the Endowment Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner of Chikamagalur district, said that the single judge had erred in remitting the matter back to the authorities. It urged the Bench to set aside the orders of the single judge.
A Division Bench comprising Justice S.R. Bannurmath and Justice Jawad Rahim adjourned hearing on the case to Wednesday.
