Jails raided

Lucknow: Mobile phones, knives and pornographic CDs were recovered from several district jails across Uttar Pradesh during a surprise check conducted on Saturday, according to police sources. They said senior officials conducted surprise checks at all district and central jails in the State. Cell phones, sim cards, chargers, knives and cash were recovered from prisons in Meerut, Faizabad and Basti districts. — PTI
