HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has stepped up its water quality monitoring in view of the prevailing monsoon conditions in the city. In a review meeting held on Saturday with the metro water works officials and external water quality auditing teams from the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Institute of Health Systems, HMWSSB Managing Director K.S.Jawahar Reddy said that special care should be taken to maintain all chlorination plants in a good condition and to increase chlorination dosages at all water treatment plants for effective removal of turbidity and proper disinfection. He also requested the IPM officials to supervise the water quality samples particularly at hotels, schools and colleges.
