BELFAST: Rain delayed the scheduled 10.15 a.m. local time (09.15GMT) toss of the one-day international between Ireland and South Africa at Stormont here on Sunday. Rain at Stormont on Saturday had interrupted India’s nine-wicket win against Ireland and there was a fresh downpour after that match was concluded. Umpires Billy Bowden and Aleem Dar were due to hold a further inspection at 10.30a.m. (09.30GMT) with a view to getting play underway at 11a.m. (10.00GMT), 15 minutes after the scheduled start. This was South Africa’s first one-day international since a seven-wicket World Cup semifinal defeat against eventual champion Australia in St. Lucia back in April. — AFP
