PATNA:

Important talks on the Middle East situation in general and the Anglo-Egyptian relations in particular took place on June 23 between the Defence Minister, Mr. V.K. Krishna Menon, and President Nasser when they met for lunch at the Presidential rest house near Cairo. Mr. Menon, who will be leaving for London to assist Prime Minister Nehru at the Commonwealth Prime Ministers’ Conference, will convey President Nasser’s views on important Middle East issues which are expected to figure before the London conference.
