Anti-goonda drive: youth detained

Thiruvananthapuram: The city police have arrested a 29-year-old youth involved in several criminal cases and hailing from Valiyathura under the provisions of the Kerala Antisocial Activities (Prevention) Ordinance from his hideout in Kasaragod district.

According to the police, the youth, Rajesh, a resident of Prem Nivas, Cheriyathura, Valiyathura, was arrested from Vattapara in Kasaragod on June 22 on the basis of the order from District Magistrate, Thiruvananthapuram.

A team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shanghumughom, P. Reghunath and comprising Circle Inspector, Poonthura, B. Suresh Kumar, Sub-Inspector, Valiyathura, A. S. Suresh Kumar nabbed the youth.

He was produced before the Superintendent, Central Jail, Poojappura on Sunday for being detained for six months in preventive custody. Rajesh is accused in several crime cases registered in Valiyathura police station.
