CHENNAI: A Deputy Official Liquidator was arrested here on Sunday on attempt to murder charges following a complaint from the Official Liquidator that he was allegedly assaulted by an unidentified gang on Friday. Police said when Official Liquidator Gangadar Rao was returning home on his two-wheeler, a gang in an autorickshaw intercepted him near a central government office complex in Besant Nagar and assaulted him in which he suffered injuries. Following this, he lodged a complaint with Shastri Nagar police. He was treated for the injuries at a private nursing home and has been discharged, police added. The complainant said that he had some administrative problems with Deputy Official Liquidator Manu Needhi Chozhan and hence, the later had conspired to attack him. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested the accused.
