Two constables assaulted
Staff Reporter
Bangalore: A three-member gang attacked two police constables when the latter tried to catch them near T.R. Mill in Chamarajapet on Sunday.
According to the police, Hanumantaiah and Narayanaswamy, the constables attached to Kempegowda Nagar police station, were on duty when the incident occurred. The two constables, who, on a tip off, went to T.R. Mills, found three persons and a car there. While one was in the driver’s seat, the other two were near a tea stall. The person in the driver’s seat saw the two constables and ran towards his accomplices. The three hit the constables on their head and hand and escaped.
Narayaswamy was seriously injured and he was admitted to National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gopal B. Hosur said both constables were out of danger. The police have recovered the vehicle and two machetes used by the accused.
