KARIMNAGAR: Magna Supermarket, a chain of retail markets in Andhra Pradesh, opened its 40th supermarket branch in the State and second outlet in Karimnagar town on Sunday. Joint Collector K. Sashidhar along with his wife K. Tejaswani formally inaugurated the new supermarket in the posh Jyothinagar locality. Magna Group chairman Kakkera Anjaneyulu and local general manager Ravindra and others were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Anjaneyulu, who had received national best retailer award, said Magna Supermarkets had attained the distinction by providing quality products to its customers at lesser rates. He said that their supermarkets were functioning in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, Karimnagar, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Nellore, Tirupati, Gudivada, Machilipatnam and Nanded in Maharashtra State. He said that they had set a target of opening at least 100 supermarkets in Andhra Pradesh and other States by March 2008 and to achieve a turnover of Rs 500 crore. Magna general manager Ravindra said that they were planning their hypermarket in NTPC, Ramagundam within three months period and supermarkets in Godavarikhani, Mancherial, Siddipet, Warangal, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Nirmal and other towns.
