Thrissur: P. V. Krishnan Nair was elected president of the Thrissur Public Library on Sunday. Prof. Krishnan Nair, formerly secretary of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, won the election with a majority of 521 votes. K. C. Prakasan and V. M. Manoharan, who were elected vice-president and secretary, won with a majority of 177 and 234 votes respectively. K. Balakrishnan was elected committee member with a majority of 566 votes. In all, 1,621 members voted. — Staff Reporter
