KOLLAM: Power supply, which was disrupted by Saturday’s storm, was restored in many areas in Kollam on Sunday. Deputy Chief Engineer (DCE) of KSEB Kollam Circle Prabhakaran Nair said that all the damaged 11KV lines in his circle had been repaired. However, in some areas it would take more time for repair works, mainly because electric posts had to be replaced. He said that full restoration could take a week. Call control room
Mr. Nair said that if consumers had to convey any emergency information to KSEB, they could do so to the control room at the circle office on phone number 0474-2763114. At the Kottarakara circle of the KSEB, power supply would be fully restoredin three days, DCE of the circle K. Gopalakrishnan said. Lines got snapped at 3,025 locations. Loss incurred
Eighty-nine 11 KV lines, eleven transformers and 885 low tension lines were damaged and 850 electric posts also got uprooted. The loss in the circle is estimated at Rs. 55 lakhs, he said.
