BANGALORE: The State Government seems to have ignored the suggestions by various departments on the Nandagudi SEZ. Principal Secretary (Revenue) S.M. Jamdar said, “Lands around Bangalore are prime lands and it would not be possible for the department to give large tracts of government lands on lease basis”. The BWSSB has said that it cannot extend services to the project even after completion of the Cauvery 4th Stage Second Phase to Nandagudi and the firm has to make its own arrangements for water supply and sanitary facilities. The Urban Development Department and Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority said that since the BMRDA has already proposed integrated townships in Nandagudi, Solur and Ramanagaram, it was not appropriate to set up SEZs in these areas.
