TDP demands Rs. 500 crore as flood relief

HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party leader K. Yerran Naidu on Sunday demanded that the Centre release Rs. 500 crore as flood- relief package.

At a press conference here, he lashed out at Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for failing in taking relief measures to the affected people. “Dr. Reddy is monitoring the situation sitting in the State Capital, blaming inclement weather for preventing him from flying over to the districts. He is not bringing pressure on the Centre to release adequate funds for relief operations”.

Mr. Naidu said that much more needed to be done than what the Government was claiming.
