KOCHI: Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran said here on Sunday that the Government was keen on starting more professional colleges in the cooperative sector. He was speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of the All Kerala Cooperative Bank Employees Association conference here. He said proposals had been received to start more than 10 engineering colleges, apart from a few nursing colleges, B Pharm colleges and business schools. He suggested that a cooperative medical college could be set up for students inPalakkad and Malappuram districts. Earlier, inaugurating the bank employees’ conference, he said the Government was committed to protecting the democratic nature of cooperative institutions. All India Cooperative Bank Employees Federation General Secretary P.Balakrishnan gave the keynote address.
