NEW DELHI: Indian grapplers woke up to the reality of world wrestling within a week of dominating the Commonwealth championship in Canada. At the Canada Cup international wrestling championship, only three Indians entered and none of them were among the medal winners. Commonwealth double gold medal winner Anil Kumar Mann finished fifth in the men’s 96kg freestyle class in which Canadians took all the medals. The results (freestyle): Men: 55kg: 1. Krasimir Krastonov (Eng), 2. Lee Seung-Chul (Kor), 3. Brad Pataky (US), 4. Kripa Shankar Patel (Ind). 60kg: 1. Michael Japaridze (Can), 2. Saeed Azarbayjani (Can), 3. Oda Hiroyuki (Jpn). 66kg: 1. Hai slan Garcia (Can), 2. Chris Pricket (Guelph-Can), 3. Pedro Soto (Pur). 74kg: 1. Matthew Gentry (Can), 2. Tyler Marghetis (Montreal-Can), 3. Danny Brown (Guelph-Can). 84kg: 1. Terry Madden (US), 2. Alton Lucas (US), 3 . Travis Cross (Can). 96kg: 1. Hetag Pliev (Impact-Can), 2. Michael Nuefeld (Can), 3. Jagroop Bhullar (BMWC-Can), 4. Nam Kyung-Jin (Kor), 5.
