Randhawa finishes tied 11th

Munich: Jyoti Randhawa stole the limelight on the final day of the BMW International Golf tournament, landing two eagles on the back nine to return a card of three-under 69 and finish tied 11th.

The Indian ace shot a brilliant four-under 32 on his back nine to finish with a total of seven-under 281.

His colleagues Jeev Milkha Singh (71) and Shiv Kapur (68) finished tied 18th and 21st respectively as the Indians rounded off a fine week in Europe. Niclas Fasth, fourth at the US Open last week, edged out local hero Bernhard Langer to win the title by two shots over Langer (67) and Jose Filipe Lima (72) with a total of 13-under 275.

Randhawa gave no inkling of his fine finish as he parred the first seven holes and bogeyed the eighth and parred the ninth and 10th. He then struck an eagle on the 11th and a gained a shot on the 12th. This was followed by a bogey on the 14th but he sank in an eagle on the 18th to round off a brilliant day. — PTI
