Bihar offers Nalanda varsity post to Kalam

Special Correspondent

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said his government would offer the top post of visitor in Nalanda University to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, after he lays down office as President. He said that Mr. Kalam had himself expressed his eagerness to teach in the university.

Mr. Kumar said people in general, right down to the village level, wanted Mr. Kalam to continue as President for a second term. But that could not materialise as some UPA Ministers “unleashed attacks” on him. The Chief Minister committed the unflinching support of his party, Janata Dal (United) to Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in the Presidential elections.
