HASSAN: Minister for Public Works H.D. Revanna has directed Forest Department officials to round up two elephants at a time and shift them deep into the forests. He told presspersons here on Sunday that the wild elephant menace in the district was discussed with Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy in Bangalore on Saturday. Mr. Revanna said it was necessary to obtain permission from Centre to round up more than two wild elephants. The State Government had written to the Centre for permission and the matter was discussed with the Union Minister for Environment and Forests. Permission was yet to be granted. — Staff Correspondent
