BHUBANESWAR: Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding with NIS Sparta, a Reliance-ADA Group company, to offer Post Graduate Certificate in Business Management (PGCEBM) through V-Sat technology.

The city-based top management institute would be responsible for devising curriculum and providing faculties for the students who would attend classes live in their respective cities.

V-SAT services

XIMB and NIS Academy have collaborated with Bharti Group, which would provide the V-SAT services while Israel company, ROBO Group would make Train Net, a software, available for the new age course.

The management institute would be using infrastructural training facilities of NIS Sparta spread across 28 cities and 30 centres in India. Under the programme, the faculties and students can interact during live classes.

Milestone

“This initiative will be a milestone in facilitating the students across the country to pursue high quality management education in their respective cities,” XIMB director E. Abraham said.

He said: “Two way communication and low cost delivery as well as hardware deployment were the three main factors for which XIMB opted for the satellite based training programme.”

Best of both worlds

The academic experience of XIMB and infrastructure strength of NIS would make the programme a success, said Manoj Chawla, vice president of NIS Sparta on the occasion.

“By leveraging technology to deliver such education, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar is now coming closer to participants, and reaching out to a larger participant base,” Indranil Ghosal, chief project manager (Technology Enabled Learning) of XIMB said

He said this year XIMB also planned to launch various other career-oriented management programmes through this V-Sat mode.
