BANGALORE: Two men with criminal antecedents died after they stabbed each other following a petty quarrel in J.J. Nagar police station limits. The police gave their names as Zabi (23) of Padarayanapura and Yasin (27) of Mominpura. Around 11 p.m. on Sunday, Zabi and Yasin, who were drunk and were smoking ganja near the Mominpura burial ground, started quarrelling over money. Following a verbal duel, the two attacked each other with knives. As the two suffered injuries in the abdomen, their relatives rushed them to hospital. The two died in the early hours of Monday, the police said. There was a criminal case against Zabi and Yasin in J.J. Nagar and Magadi Road police stations, the police said. Robbery case solved
The Central Division police have arrested an employee of a real estate agency who had allegedly enacted a robbery drama and fleeced his employer of Rs. 8 lakh. The police have recovered Rs. 4 lakh cash and gold ornaments and electronic goods worth Rs. 3 lakh from the arrested, Jayaprakash Rao of Ejipura. The police said that on May 16, Jayaprakash lodged a complaint with the Viveknagar police that armed men intercepted his motorcycle near Air View point on Koramangala Ring Road and robbed him of Rs. 8 lakh cash at gunpoint. After withdrawing Rs. 8 lakh from two banks, Jayaprakash was on his way to the estate agency office on Airport Road. During the investigation, the police doubted Jayaprakash’s claims and they kept a watch on his activities. The police found that he was not attending his work at the estate agency and had been spending lavishly. He had paid Rs. 90,000 to a private educational institute to get Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and Executive Masters in Business Administration certificates. He had purchased gold ornaments, household articles and clothes worth about Rs. 1 lakh, the police said. Besides, Jayaprakash had misled the investigators by claiming that one of the youths from Kerala, who arrested recently on charges of robbing employees of a real estate agency, had pointed a revolver at him while snatching the cash bag, the police said. The Seshadripuram police have arrested three men on charges of burglary and robbery recovered from them gold ornaments worth Rs. 4.85 lakh. The police gave the names of the arrested as Uday (25), Anand (18) and Raja (18). The accused had burgled houses in Bangalore, Mysore, Mandya and Krishnagiri and robbed a woman of her gold chain and another of her bag containing valuables, the police said. The Sadashivanagar police have arrested three youths from Tirupattur in Tamil Nadu on charges of theft and recovered from them sandalwood worth Rs. 50,000. The police said Ramesh (20), Velli (19) and Govindaswamy (25) were arrested when they were suspiciously moving near the Indian Institute of Science campus in the early hours of Wednesday. In another case, the Sadashivanagar police have arrested two youths who had allegedly snatched a mobile phone from MLA Shankaralinge Gowda’s son at a restaurant a few months ago.
