Struggle against bauxite mining, says Naidu

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Telugu Desam party is organising a dharna at Araku on June 27 against bauxite mining in the agency area, as part of its plan to step up the agitation against bauxite mining and setting up alumina factories in the plain area.

This was the result of party president N. Chandrababu Naidu telling his party leaders here that they should be more active and serious in the ongoing anti-bauxite and anti-refineries agitation.

TDP should not lag behind other parties like the communists, he reportedly said. Mr. Naidu told rural unit president B. Satyanarayana Murthy to step up its activities regarding the bauxite issue .
