CHENNAI: Tejas Ravichandran (P.S. Sr.Sec. School) and G.K. Monnisha (Amrita Vidyalayam School) emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories in the Chennai district u-13 chess championship on Sunday. While Tejas finished with 6 points from seven rounds, there was a tie for the first place between Monnisha and N. Hema Priya (Vidyodaya MHS School ) with 4.5 points each. Monnisha became the winner in tie-break games. The under-19 boys’ and girls’ categories were won by P. Lokesh (SBOA MHS School) and R. Bharathi (Bakthavachalam Vidyashram). Final Standings: Under-13: boys: 1. Teajas Ravichandran (P.S.Sr. Sec. School ) 6 pts; 2. N. Raj Kumar (Velammal MHS ) 5.5; 3. A.R. Osama Salim (Velammal MHS School) 5.5; girls: 1. G.K. College) 2.Audhichetty MCA wins Audhichetty MCA lifted the Under-15 PCA cricket Trophy defeating Ebenezer Marcus CA ‘A’ by seven wickets. R. Aashish Kumar was declared the player of the match. The scores: Ebenezer Marcus CA ‘A’ 105 for nine in 20 overs (Srivatsan 35, R. Deepak three for 21) lost to Audhichetty MCA 106 for three in 19.1 overs (R. Aashish Kumar 46 n.o.). Mohit in final Mohit Mayur defeated Elwin Antony 8-3 to enter the boys’ under-18 final of the NTC State-ranking tennis tournament at the Nungambakkam Tennis Club here. In the other semifinal, Mohd. Chandrasekhar-Abiram emerge winners G. Chandrasekhar and Abiram Uday emerged the winner in the 125th year doubles golf tournament organised by the Madras Gymkhana club. B.
