NEW DELHI: Three pavement dwellers, including a woman, were injured when a businessman allegedly in an inebriated condition drove his car into them on Tilak Marg here on Monday. The Maruti car of 34-year-old Inderjeet Singh, a resident of B. K. Dutt Colony, hit Monu (18), Shabnam (20) and Irfan (22) who were sleeping on the pavement on Bhairon Road in the early hours of Monday, the police said. A Police Control Room van staff noticed the accused trying to escape after hitting the three persons and immediately flashed a message to the Control Room. The car was intercepted after a brief chase and Inderjeet Singh was arrested. The victims were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and discharged after first-aid.
