Labourers killed in collision

NEW DELHI: Two labourers were killed and over a dozen sustained minor injuries when a tempo carrying them collided with a taxi in Mehrauli here on Monday.

According to the police, the accident took place when the driver of the speeding radio taxi lost control and collided head-on with the tempo coming from the opposite direction near Sanjay Colony in the morning. The tempo carrying over two dozen labourers overturned under the impact of the collision. Rajpal (30) died on the spot, while Ladak Ram (35) later died at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Over a dozen persons, including tempo driver Sanjay, have been admitted to AIIMS.

A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered.
