Rajaratnam’s books released

Staff Reporter

For children: Poet Nissar Ahmed along with Sudha Murthy releasing Kannada books written by G.P. Rajaratnam in Bangalore on Monday.

BANGALORE: Poet K.S. Nissar Ahmed on Monday released 25 works on children’s literature authored by G.P. Rajaratnam and published by Sapna Book House.

Speaking after releasing the books, Mr. Ahmed said the late Rajaratnam had been a distinguished writer who continued to touch the minds of children despite being a serious writer.

The word “literary service” got its real meaning through Rajaratnam, he said.

Mr. Ahmed said having been inspired by the Guruparampara, the late Rajaratnam wrote many small works for children.

Recalling his association with the writer, the poet said Rajaratnam was a disciplined person.

Despite being a “tough” person, he never hesitated to recognise good works done by others.

Commending Sapna Book House for bringing out the books, Mr. Ahmed urged the publisher to make available all the books at one place.

The Infosys Foundation Director Sudha Murthy, publisher Nitin Shaw and the late Rajaratnam’s grandson Srinivas were present on the occasion.
