Red alert in agency area

Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATNAM: Red alert was declared in the Visakha agency area in view of the banned CPI (Maoist)’s economic blockade programme on June 26 and 27, during which the party was expected to target major projects and installations.

Bus services on the G.K. Veedhi-Sileru route were suspended on Monday and they might not run on the next two days also.

It may be recalled that the Maoists early this month had blasted the control room of the hydel power project at Sileru and damaged a transmission tower.
