Funds for Sanskrit directorate

BANGALORE: Higher Education Minister D.H. Shankaramurthy on Monday said that the State Government would establish an exclusive directorate for rejuvenating the study and development of ancient Sanskrit language .

Addressing presspersons here after holding a meeting with the principals of all Sanskrit colleges in the State , the Minister said that Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa had allocated funds for establishing the directorate in the budget. Mr. Shankaramurthy said that once the directorate was established, the Government would accord the status of deemed university to a Sanskrit college.
