Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit
NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has instructed the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to enhance the electricity load to all the 6,724 government quarters in the Gole Market Assembly segment to overcome the recurring problem of power cuts. She issued the direction while interacting with residents of her constituency on Monday. NDMC Chairperson Parimal Rai and other senior officials were also present. The Chief Minister directed the NDMC officials to work in tandem with the Central Public Works Department and resolve the issue. The residents would get uninterrupted power supply after the enhancement of their electricity load within six months without incurring any additional financial burden, said Ms. Dikshit. She also directed the NDMC officials to look into complaints of uneven distribution of drinking water supply in the area and approach the Delhi Jal Board to get its full share of allocated water supply for the residents. She assured representatives of Residents’ Welfare Associations that the issue would be settled within a couple of weeks. Also, the civic body would soon launch a door-to-door garbage collection system in Gole Market Assembly segment to facilitate proper sanitation and all the residents would be provided two separate bins, informed Ms. Dikshit. She directed the NDMC to organise a daylong workshop to ensure that the residents well versed with the new system.
