PERTH: Tom Moody is not looking for any international cricket coaching assignments in the near future after returning to Western Australia from a successful stint with Sri Lanka. Moody, who won two World Cups as a player for Australia, coached the Sri Lankans to the 2007 World Cup final in April but couldn’t prevent the Australians winning an unprecedented third consecutive title. The ex-international all-rounder was touted as a candidate for several high-profile international jobs, but said he turned them down so his young family could live in Perth. “I’ve had, obviously, a taste of international cricket and it’s very demanding,” Moody told reporters on Tuesday at the WACA ground. “At this stage of my life and career, I don’t see myself looking at international posts in the short to mid-term. Who knows what will happen in the long term?” — AP
