ADILABAD: Adilabad Municipal chairman Digambar Rao Patil on Tuesday inaugurated a two-day workshop on solid waste management and training to ‘nagara deepikas’ under the AP Urban Services for the Poor (APUSP) programme. Two girls each from a Municipal ward who were christened nagara deepikas will be trained on aspects of collection and disposal of garbage in town. Mr. Digambar Rao Patil said the nagara deepikas in respective wards will explain to housewives on the best practices regarding garbage disposal. Thus, they will be spreading awareness on keeping the town clean which is a necessity for keeping diseases away,. Commissioner Shahid Masood said new methods of disposal have made Adilabad a garbage-free town.
