“TDP’s Andhra bias exposed”

K. Chandrasekhar Rao

HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao alleged that the “pro-Andhra bias” of the Telugu Desam Party is exposed by the participation of its leaders in dharnas organised in coastal Andhra districts on Monday.

The TDP leaders “hurt the sentiments” of Telangana people by participating in protests against implementation of G.O. 610. “The TDP’s double standards on Telangana have already been exposed as the party failed to implement the Presidential Order, 1975, in spite of being in power for 14 out of the 22 years since the G.O. was issued,” he said.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Rao criticised Telangana TDP leaders T. Devender Goud, Kadiyam Srihari and Nagam Janardhan Reddy who “claim themselves to be champions of Telangana cause” for remaining silent on the agitation launched by Telangana employees since a fortnight. “These leaders express their lip sympathy for Telangana to cheat people,” he said.

He warned APNGOs Association leaders against “any moves to halt implementation of the G.O. as people of the region are waging a justified struggle to secure their rights.” It is not proper on the part of the APNGO leaders to seek action against TRS leaders for trying to convince non-local employees to go to their native places, he said.

He asked the Government to implement the G.O. in letter and spirit, saying that the party is not prepared to “allow a single person” to work in the region in violation of the Presidential Orders. The TRS is collecting data of the number of non-locals in Zones V and VI and it will be submitted to the House Committee on the G.O. for further action, he said.
