ANANTAPUR: State Secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI) K. Narayana has criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) for taking up counselling of employees of other regions working in the Telangana region, particularly in Hyderabad. The party has no right to take up such a terrorising exercise, he remarked. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday he said, though the CPI was for the implementation of 610 GO, the approach of TRS towards the issue was objectionable and concerning. It was a delicate issue and should be dealt with caution and patience, he said. But, the TRS was making it complicated by instigating regional passions among the employees working together, he alleged. In the matter of categorisation of Scheduled Castes too the stand of CPI was similar. It would be beneficial to all sections concerned if they stayed united but it would definitely prove detrimental to the interests of the entire community, if the vertical divide among the SCs continued, Dr. Narayana felt. Land issue
The land struggle taken up by the Left parties was, in fact, ‘bhoo vimukti poratam’ as it was aimed at unshackling the Government land lying in the clutches of the influential persons in the society. Distribution of one to two acres of land to poor families would definitely make a difference in their social status, as recommended by the Swaminathan Commission, he said.
