KOLLAM: Five fever-related deaths were reported in the district on Tuesday. Two died at Pathanapuram and three at Thalavoor. At Pathanapuram, the deceased are siblings, Neelambaran(70) and Muraleedharan (62). Those who died at Thalavoor are Krishnan Unni (78), Madhavan (73) and Meenakshi (67). The District Medical Office (DMO) has not confirmed these deaths as fever related. According to a DMO spokesman, three deaths were due to cardiac arrest, one due to ulcer and the other was caused by respiratory arrest. The DMO said that the number of fever cases reported on Tuesday in the district was 1,250.
