Crime Branch probe sought into youth death

Staff Reporter

KOTTAYAM: The parents of Noble John, whose body was found in Meenachil River a year ago, has sought a crime branch investigation into the incident.

Noble John had reportedly gone to the river with his friends on June 27, 2007.

According to John Mathew and his wife, Valsamma, their son’s death was a case of murder and not a case of drowning as inferred by the local police.

In a petition to Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan they

said their son did not know swimming and would not have taken the risk

of going to the river to take bath.

They also said there were circumstantial evidences to prove that there was foul play in the death of their son, a bright student who stood very high on the merit list

of the State entrance examination.
