TNAU: counselling for UG courses begins

FUTURE FARM GRADUATES: Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University C. Ramasamy handing over the provisional admission card to a candidate attending the counselling for UG courses at the university in Coimbatore on Tu esday. –

Coimbatore: Counselling for admission to undergraduate courses began at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University on Tuesday. It will continue till Saturday.

“Nearly 3,500 candidates had applied to the university to pursue an undergraduate degree in any of the twelve disciplines. The university shortlisted 1,374 candidates based on the cut off mark based on the aggregate of marks obtained in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology in the Plus-Two examinations,” K. Vanangamudi, Dean (Agriculture), has said.

Those with cut off marks from 197 to 180.75 (out of 200) were called for the counselling on the first day. While 154 candidates attended the forenoon session, 151 attended the afternoon session.

Out of the 154, only 80 attended the counselling and 79 got admitted into the course of their choice. The topper Srivathsa S. from Thiruvanamalai (with 197) got admission in the B.Tech. Biotechnology course.

In the afternoon session, out of the 84 who attended, 78 got admission.
