BSP activists join Congress

NEW DELHI: Seven State and district-level members of the Bahujan Samaj Party quit the outfit on Tuesday and joined the Congress party.

They left the party under the leadership of Delhi BSP secretary Kuldeep Bhatti. They said that they wanted to consolidate the hands of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The leaders further stated that Congress was the only party with a national perspective rising above caste and creed and it alone can take the country on the path of progress and development.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma welcomed them to the party fold at the party headquarters here.
