University of Kerala Examination dates: The seventh semester (1998 scheme) B.Tech. examinations scheduled for June 23 will be held on July 4. The seventh semester (1998 scheme ) examinations scheduled on June 29 will be held on July 12th and the third seme ster B.Tech. (2003 scheme) examinations scheduled for July 9 will be held on July 11. These changes are applicable to those students coming under the transitory scheme. The other third semester (2003 scheme) B.Tech. examinations will be held on June 28, 30, July 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11. NRI seats: Applications have been invited for the NRI seats for the first year B.Tech. programme in the College of Engineering, Kariavattom, for the year 2007-08. There are nine seats each for electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering and IT. Even those students who have not written the State entrance examinations can apply for admission under this category. Applications can be had from the college for Rs.50. They can also be downloaded from the website www.keralauniversity.edu/uce. Further details can be had from the college. Bio-chemistry results: Results of the sixth semester B.Sc. bio-chemistry and industrial microbiology, botany and biotechnology, biotechnology (vocational) examinations held in April this year have been published. Applications for reval uation and scrutiny of the answer sheets can be submitted till July 25 and July 31 respectively. The first rank in the B.Sc. biotechnology (vocational) examinations goes to G.V. Anju of the Government College, Kariavattom. The first rank in the B.Sc. biochemistry and industrial microbiology examinations goes to V. S. Parvathy of the Government Women’s College Thiruvananthapuram. The first rank for B.Sc. botany and biotechnology examinations goes to P.S. Indulekha of the S. N. College of Technology, Kollam. Islamic history: Results of the credit and semester M.A. Islamic History (2005-07) examinations have been published. The first rank goes to Abdul Hadi. M.Sc. Chemistry: Results of the credit and semester M. Sc. Chemistry (2005-07) examinations have been published. The first rank goes to G. Namnitha. M. A. Linguistics: Results of the credit and semester M. A. Lingustics (2005-07) examinations have been published. The first rank goes to C. B. Geethanjali. B. Pharm: Results of the first year B. Pharm. examinations held in January have been published. Applications for revaluation and scrutiny of answer sheets can be submitted till July 31. Seminar: The department of Sanskrit would organise a two-day seminar on ‘The Contributions of Sanskrit to Language and Literature,’ beginning June 28. The seminar will be inaugurated by Education Minister M.A. Baby at the S enate Chamber. The Minister will also unveil the portrait of noted Sanskrit scholar P. Ganapathy Shastry.
