Five persons commit suicide in city Crime notes

BANGALORE: Five persons, including two garment factory employees, committed suicide in as many incidents reported from the city on Monday night.

Meanwhile, another garment factory employee, who had consumed poison a week ago, died on Monday evening.

The police said Rekha (18), a garment factory employee, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house on Uttarahalli Road. The Kengeri police have registered a case.

Another garment factory employee, Shiva Kumar (30) of Hassan district, ended his life by consuming poison at his house in Cauverynagar on Hosur Road on Monday night. Baby (18), a garment factory employee, who had consumed poison a week ago, died at a private hospital on Monday evening. She was a resident of Kamalanagar. In another incident reported from Basaveshwaranagar police station limits, Bhavana (15), a Class 10 student, committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Shivanagar on Monday night.

Joseph (35), an alcoholic who was jobless for past three months, committed suicide by hanging himself with a sari at his house on 4th Cross, Nishan House, in Viveknagar police station limits. The incident came to light when his wife, a domestic help, returned home from work on Monday night, the police said.

In a similar incident, another alcoholic Raju (28) ended his life by hanging himself with a sari at his house in Dinnur in Kadugodi police station limits.

Electrocuted

Jhansi Rani (37), a housewife, was electrocuted at her house in Chikkakallasandara after she touched an electric boiler in the bathroom on Monday morning, police said.
