State urged to restore Wakf Board lands
Hyderabad: The BJP Minority Morcha urged the Government to restore the encroached Wakf lands and to appoint a Special Officer as in-charge of Wakf properties.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, Morcha national secretary Layaq Ali said Wakf lands were being encroached as there was no special officer to take care. He demanded that the GO 610 be implemented in the Wakf Board and publication of the second Wakf survey gazette. The enncroached lands include the Task Force Office in Begumpet, city morcha president Khaled Ahmed Khan.
The leaders demanded that Government release a white paper on extend of encroachment in Wakf lands during the past 10 years.
They said the Government should not employ retired Government officials in the Board. On the proposed minority reservations, Mr. Layaq Ali maintained that the weaker sections among minorities should get the reservations.
