CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch police recovered fake credit cards from a gang and arrested two persons, including a Malaysian, here on Tuesday. Acting on a complaint from HDFC Bank, Commissioner Letika Saran directed the setting up of special teams to look out for a gang circulating fake credit cards. On a tip off, the Central Crime Branch police questioned Omar, Udaykumar and Suresh Babu. Interrogations revealed that they allegedly received fake international credit cards from two persons whose names were given as Ganesan (46) of Malaysia and K.Srinivasan alias Srikanth (48) of M.S.Koil Street, Royapuram. Tihar Jail
According to a senior CCB officer, Srinivasan was involved in credit card rackets in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore and other cities. He had recently come out from Tihar Jail, New Delhi. Srinivasan and Ganesan were arrested in the city and the police registered a case. They were produced before a city court which remanded them to judicial custody.
