Merit evening

Excellence in education has to be fine tuned with values, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Vice-Chancellor K.S. Radhakrishnan has said.

He was speaking after inaugurating a ‘merit evening’ organised by the Sahodaya School Complex, an organisation of principals of CBSE schools in and around Kochi.

Excellence become significant only when it is shared with the lesser-privileged sections, Dr. Radhakrishnan said. He distributed certificates to the winners.

A few seats in class 11, humanities stream, are vacant in Kendriya Vidyalaya, No. 1, Naval base. Those interested in joining the class should contact the Principal before June 30, said a communication issued from the school.

An investiture ceremony of St. Paul’s International School was held at the school auditorium on Monday. Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Jacob was the chief guest. School director Jose Chelangara also spoke.

A skit on protection of trees was presented at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura, as part of the World Environment Day observance.

The swearing-in ceremony of ‘junior students’ council’ was held at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura. Adwaith A. Menon and Aiswarya Suresh were appointed head boy and head girl.

A Finnish theatre team visited Vidyodaya School Thevakkal recently. The team performed with students of the school.
