Government staff to stage demonstration

Puducherry: Employees and workers in the administration, affiliated to the Central Federation of Associations of Employees, will stage a demonstration in front of Raj Nivas here on Thursday to push their demands. A release said here on Wednesday that although the Centre had issued several circulars to settle their demands, nothing had been done so far. Delay or failure to fill vacancies in various cadres had been leading to lapse of posts. The federation felt anguished over the refusal of the Centre to pay an interim relief of Rs.1.000 pending the Sixth Pay Commission report.
