Rain at a few places

NEW DELHI: RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at few places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Loha ru 1, Himachal Pradesh: Guler 5 and Ghamroor 4, Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 8, Jammu and Patti 4 each and Bhaderwah 1, Punjab: shahpurkandi 5, Ranjitsagardam 3 and Balachaur and Phillaur 1 each, East Rajasthan: Kathumer 9, Kaman 4, Pahari 3, Kumher, Kishangangwas and Mount Abu 2 each and Alwar, Bhatarpur, Beir, Bansur, Bahadurpur, Deeg, Govindgarh, Jhadol, Kotputli, Kanba, Nagar, Nadbai and Neemkathana 1 each, West Rajasthan: Garraroad 3, Ramsar 2 and Bagoda, Bhinmal and Sindrai 1 each, East West Uttar Pradesh: Agra 2 and Uttaranchal: Banbasa 3 and Uttarkashi 2.

TEMPERATURE: The maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and Punjab, fell in Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. They were appreciably below normal in Haryana, Punjab, west Raj asthan and west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 39.8°C recorded at Varanasi (A.P) (Uttar Pradesh).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 29th JUNE 2007: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 29th JUNE 2007: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 38°C.
