M. Rajaram, new Tourism Director

Several IAS officers transferred

CHENNAI: M. Rajaram, Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, is the new State Tourism Director and Managing Director of the Tourism Development Corporation.

He succeeds Sanwat Ram, who has been granted leave in the wake of hospitalisation following a road accident in Malaysia early this month.

The orders were issued on Tuesday. The administration transferred several other Indian Administrative Service officers.

Housing Board MD

P.A. Ramaiah, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Secretary, will assume charge as Managing Director of the Housing Board.

A. Chittaranajan Mohandoss, Joint Secretary in the Public Department, will also function as Director of Information and Public Relations Department and ex-officio Joint Secretary of the Tamil Development, Religious Endowments and Information Department. T. K. Ramachandran, formerly State Project Director of the Sarva Shiksha Abiyan, has been appointed Managing Director of the Slum Clearance Board.

N. Govindan, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Secretary, has been made Chairman and Managing Director of the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited. C. Muthukumaraswamy, Additional Commissioner, Land Administration Department, has been posted to the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department as Secretary.

The positions of A. Ramalingam, Director of Rural Development (Training) and K. Sellamuthu, Joint Commissioner in the Revenue Administration Department, have been swapped.

R. Thiagarajan, Joint Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, has been transferred as Joint Secretary in the Home, Prohibition and Excise Department. Sudeep Jain, formerly Joint Secretary in the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, has been posted as Joint Secretary in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.
