Insurance cover soon for cooperative unions

BANGALORE: Cooperative institutions in the State as well as their members may soon get insurance cover.

The Karnataka State Insurance Cooperative Union entered into a memorandum of understanding with the IFFCO (Indian Farmers’ Fertilizer Co-operative Limited)-TOKIO General Insurance Company on Wednesday to provide such an insurance cover to co-operative institutions.

To begin with, the new co-operative union will function as the corporate agent for the IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance Company.

Such an insurance cover for the cooperative institutions was being provided in Kerala.
