MOSCOW: The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) will hold anti-terrorist war games on Russian territory later this summer to strengthen its military clout. The agreement to stage the drills was signed on Wednesday by the Defence Ministers of the SCO at their meeting in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek. Under the games scenario, the military of the member-states will free a town allegedly captured by terrorists in Western Siberia. It will be the first SCO wargames in Russia. The group held anti-terror exercises in China, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The wargames have been scheduled to coincide with a SCO summit in Bishkek on August 16. The SCO alliance has six full members — Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and four observers — India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan. India and Pakistan will attend the summit at the level of Foreign Ministers.
