HYDERABAD: A suspected case of dengue was reported on Wednesday from a private hospital in twin cities even as health officials were embroiled in a stocktaking exercise on curbing the spurt in cases of Acute Diarrhoeal Diseases (ADD) like gastroenteritis and cholera.
District health officials were yet to confirm whether the suspected case of dengue was from Hyderabad or from nearby districts, but they maintained that roadside eateries had become a major source behind the spread of ADDs in twin cities. Since the onset of monsoons, on a daily basis, the Fever Hospital at Nallakunta is receiving 15 to 25 patients with gastroenteritis.
